HAPPY DO SOMETHING NICE DAY
Since 1965 we try to do something nice every day!
Recently, we successfully audited the renewal of our 3 ISO certificates (ISO-9001, ISO-14001 and ISO-45001), which are now valid for the next 3 years. These certificates are an official confirmation of our work in terms of quality, environmental management and occupational health and safety. We are proud of this, and we hope you are too!
Photovoltaics - over 1,ooo Megawatt-hours
Since mid-2008 we have been producing a large part of the energy we consume ourselves! The solar panels on our factory roofs convert the sun's light energy into electrical energy using solar cells. This produced energy is used directly by us.
Our annual electricity consumption is about 130,000 kWh. We produce 80,000 kWh of this ourselves. Over the years we have already generated over 1,000 Megawatt-hours!
Wood chip heating - we heat with our wood scraps
Wood chip heating systems are considered to be environmentally friendly compared to heating systems for fossil fuels. The amount of CO2 released during the combustion of wood chips is exactly the same as the amount of CO2 that was absorbed during the growth of the wood.
By using the biogenic energy source wood chips, the dependence on fossil fuels is reduced.
This is why we heat almost exclusively with the wood scraps that are generated during the production of our products.
Minimal water consumption
Water is our most precious commodity. And it is becoming increasingly scarce.
Two thirds of the earth's surface is covered by water. This is why the earth is also called the blue planet. But 97 percent of all water is salt water. Only 3 percent is so-called fresh water. And only this is drinkable. According to the United Nations, global water consumption has increased tenfold in recent years. The available water is becoming scarce.
It is good to know that our entire company uses only as much water per year as an average household.
Neutralization of CO2 emissions (since 2007)
We rely on a production that is as efficient as possible energy-wise, reducing to a minimum the CO2 emissions. This is true both for production as well as for transportation and on-site assembly. Our goal is to commit ourselves strenuously to reducing CO2 emissions in the future in order to keep pollution as low as possible. With our products, we aim at offering maximum benefits to the community and at the same time at keeping CO2 emission levels as low as possible.
We have calculated the CO2 emissions of our company for the year 2020 and in return we supported the afforestation project in Panama.
We've been doing this since 2007 (on a voluntary basis) and we were able to reforest 34,21 ha of fallow land with 37.218 trees.
